Prince
Name: Prince
Breed: Chihuahua X
Age: 5 Years Old
About: Prince is a Chihuahua cross, and in typical chihuahua fashion, has a personality that’s far bigger than his small stature. He came into our care following the sad loss of his owner, and like many dogs experiencing sudden change, he has found sanctuary life challenging at times.
Prince can appear a little intimidating when he’s safely behind a gate or fence, putting on a tough front to manage situations he finds uncertain. Interestingly, he chooses his people, and he does so seemingly without rhyme nor reason. Some volunteers are met with trust and affection, while others are kept at paw’s length. With those he knows well, Prince can be very loving and snuggly, enjoying pets on his own terms. With others, he has been known on occasion to dart in and nip at feet, usually when he’s feeling unsure or overstimulated. As is so often the case with dogs who present as “angry,” Prince’s behaviour is rooted in fear rather than aggression.
Prince is full of character and keeps the volunteers on their toes.
