Joey
Name: Joey
Breed: Chihuahua
Age: 2 Years Old
About: Joey came into our care after being found straying and, despite efforts to locate an owner, he was never claimed. As a result, much of his early history is unknown, but it’s clear he has learned to rely on himself and can be cautious in unfamiliar situations.
Joey can be selective about the people he trusts and often makes up his mind quickly about who he feels comfortable with, sometimes for reasons that aren’t obvious to us. When he feels safe, he can be calm and affectionate, enjoying attention from the volunteers. When he’s unsure or overwhelmed, he may respond defensively, and he has been known on occasion to nip, particularly around feet, as a way of creating space. Joey was previously adopted but unfortunately later returned.
Joey is a small dog with a big personality and plenty of character. His lively little presence brings plenty of personality to the sanctuary.
