Volunteer With Dogs Aid

Can you dedicate some time each week / month to help us at Dogs’ Aid Animal Sanctuary?

Midweek

We are always looking for new volunteers – especially midweek (Mon-Fri) which can be a huge struggle to get enough volunteers to cover the basics. Maybe you are retired or work part-time? Could you spare a few hours in the morning or afternoon?

Weekends

We are always happy to see more volunteers on the weekends (we are especially short for volunteers on Sundays!)

If you’ve wanted to volunteer for a long time but think it might be too hard / too emotional, trust us, you make the dog’s days so much brighter by being there for them! The love you will receive in return makes it all worth it 🐾

What's Involved?

Mornings (10am - 12:30pm)

Volunteers help to take the dogs out of their kennels and start cleaning kennels and washing bedding.

It’s the best feeling knowing the dogs are going back to clean, dry kennels that night!

Afternoons (12:30pm - 5:30pm)

Volunteers start walking the dogs and bring them to the runs for a play / cuddle / training or sometimes a snooze!

Don’t worry if you are unable to walk long distances – we have plenty of dogs who just love sitting with a volunteer or getting some short sniffy walks

Requirements

You must be over 18 to volunteer!

You must LOVE animals!

If you’re interested in getting start, please ring the sanctuary on 0872944310 the day before you intend to volunteer.
