Since May 2025, Pawtastic have been kindly donating their time and expertise through their initiative “Grooming with a Purpose”, providing a Dogs Aid dog with a full grooming experience, every week. From a relaxing bath to a complete groom, each dog is treated to the full pampering session — and the results speak for themselves.
Many dogs arrive into our care having had a very tough start to life. They may be badly matted, in need of a haircut, dirty, or simply uncomfortable in their own skin. Grooming is not just about appearance – although it certainly helps our dogs show their best sides to potential adopters – it’s also about comfort, confidence, and overall wellbeing. A proper groom can make a world of difference to how a dog feels.
Pawtastic’s very first Dogs Aid guests were Sooty and Tiger, a gorgeous mother-and-son duo (pictured together), who kicked off Grooming with a Purpose in style. They returned from their glam session looking (and feeling!) so good that, rumour has it, the rest of the dogs immediately started lining up for their turn in the salon chair!
Since then, many Dogs Aid dogs have enjoyed these weekly visits, each one benefiting from the care, kindness, and patience shown by the Pawtastic team. Their commitment to helping rescue dogs feel comfortable, confident, and ready for their forever homes is truly appreciated by everyone at Dogs Aid, two‑legged and four‑legged alike.
